Goalkeeper training

This section is special training for handball goalkeepers. Training focus is improvement of goalkeeper movements, mobility, flexibility, body stability, speed of reactions, body structure and position against the ball, maximising the body area used for keeping the ball,...

You only need a folding rule, an empty space of approx. 2 x 2 meters size. You can use Tabata music with high intensity training intervals from our website or your own music for motivation and keeping up the training speed.

General hints for all goal keeper exercises

  • straight upper body, keep your breast bone up
  • Shoulders parallel to the goal, don't turn them sideways
  • hold the hips also parallel and straight up, don't turn them sideways
  • place the foot parallel to the shoulders
  • hold your head up, eye direction straight/ in a horizontal line to the "ball shooter"
  • try to use your body as large as possible area against the "ball from the shooter"
